Admissions Policy

High Meadows is a non-denominational school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, sex, national and ethnic origin in administering educational policies, athletic, or other school-administered programs.

Admission to High Meadows School is determined by a number of factors. Student applicants are admitted based on the child’s ability to succeed socially and academically in our dynamic learning environment. The Admissions Committee bases its decision on academic evaluations and assessments, past school records, student assessment visits, and teacher evaluations.

Contingent on available space, we offer year round placement. When there are more qualified candidates than openings available, the school establishes a waiting pool after the Director of Admissions has received the application and the application fee. The Admissions Committee decides which candidate(s) to offer a position based on the overall class profile and the match between the needs and qualifications of the student with the needs of the school.

Decisions

All students possess many varied gifts and talents. Therefore, the Admissions Committee makes difficult decisions about the acceptance or rejection of applicants to High Meadows School. There are not enough openings to admit all qualified students that apply to our school. The Admissions Committee bases each decision on academic performance, work and study habits, and social interaction.

Admissions Process

  • High Meadows School is a member of the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS). We follow the guidelines outlined in the AAAIS brochure “Principles of Good Practice.”
