At High Meadows, parent volunteers work together with the staff of the school, forming a team that enriches the children’s educational experience. On any given day, a visitor to the school’s campus will see a number of parents helping out in a variety of ways, from assisting in the classroom to leading a pony during a class’s weekly ride; from chaperoning a field trip to reshelving books in the library.

"I believe this culture of volunteerism is truly unique to High Meadows. I find that it creates a very special family-like atmosphere not found elsewhere; one which benefits the children, as well as the staff and parents." |

Certainly, the children and the school benefit when parents volunteer. Volunteering has benefits for parents as well. Parent volunteers gain insight into their children’s education and become well-acquainted with members of the faculty as well as other parents. In fact, through volunteering, many parents develop new friendships and professional relationships.

"My main reason for volunteering is that, along with a group of very committed parents, I am helping to improve the world where my son spends his days." |
